Programs and Class  Registration  2008 Season

As you register you will have the option to either pay a non-refundable deposit or for the classes in full.  All students will need to pay a registration fee.  Please select whether your child is a new student or a returning student and include that with your registration.  No registration is considered complete until that fee is paid.

Water Babies - Parent Tot

Water Babies (Water Acclimation Program)
Ages 6 mos. – 18 months of age  30 minute lesson

Ages 18 mos. – 3 years of age  30 minute lesson
This interactive group class provides an opportunity for parent and child to experience basic water safety fundamentals and body mechanics, while discovering their newfound love of the water. Click Here for details.

Sea Stars

Sea Horses

Dolphins

Dolphins I & II (Water Safety Instruction)

Seals

This class mirrors the Sea Star curriculum however; front and back flutter kicks are incorporated with and without assistance, however all aspects of the curriculum are taken to the next progressive step.   Click Here for details.

Private Lifeguard Service

Aquatic Safety Instruction employs only the best! Our Certified Lifeguards will ensure the safety of all your guests in the pool, giving you peace of mind. We not only provide pool management, but we also host games, relays, and anything else in which the pool goers have an interest. We are there to help you create a fun and SAFE pool party environment for any size event. Enjoy your party…let us take care of your guests!

Lifeguard rates: $60.00 per hour per lifeguard, with a three hour minimum. A 20% gratuity of the hourly rate included. (Rates subject to change)

Aquatic Related Job Placement Division: ASI provides:

  • Job placement of qualified applicants
  • Continuing education courses/In-service training
  • American Red Cross Certification and Re-Certification Training

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/Certification Ages 15 and older

      Requirements:

  • Ability to swim 500 yards (200 front crawl, 100 breaststroke, and 200 yards of your choice between the two strokes)
  • Ability to swim 20 yards, surface dive into 7-10 feet of water, retrieve a 10 lb. brick, swim 20 yards back to the starting point and tread water with the brick in hand for 10 minutes

    This program includes certification in the following areas:

  • Community First Aid
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer (Adult, Child, and Infant)
  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
  • Preventing Disease Transmission
  • Emergency Response

Cost per candidate: $265.00 Includes: Lifeguard Training manual, pocket mask, use of pool, certification fees

CPR and First Aid Certification Ages 14 and older

This course combines lectures, demonstrations, and videos with hands-on training and practice. Participants in this course learn to recognize and respond to emergencies including shock, cardiac and breathing emergencies for adults, children and infants, heat and cold emergencies, sudden illnesses and poisonings. Additionally, participants will learn first aid for minor injuries such as cuts and scrapes, as well as more severe muscle, bone and joint injuries.

Cost per candidate: $95.00 Includes: Certification card

Junior Lifeguard Program Ages 9 - 15

This program is designed to guide youth into the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training program by building a foundation of knowledge, attitudes and skill in future lifeguards. Comprehensive development in five critical areas:

  • Prevention: Prevent drowning and diving accidents
  • Fitness: Develop swimming skills and more response: Understand the basics of emergency response techniques and life guarding skills
  • Leadership: Learn decision making and communication skills needed to succeed as a lifeguard.
  • Professionalism: Learn the skills necessary to prepare for the important and vital work of life guarding.

Cost per candidate: $180.00

American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification Ages 17 and older

Ability to perform the following water skills: wading assist, spinal injury stabilization in shallow water using head splint, throwing assist, reaching assist, retrieving a 10 pound brick from 7 feet of water, ability to demonstrate American Red Cross Level VI swimming skills as follows: 50 yards each of the front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, 10 yards butterfly, and standing front dive from the deck.  Whether you want to splash around with kids and teach them to swim, help children or adults refine their strokes, or teach diving safety techniques, you can do it as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.

 As a Water Safety Instructor, you can:
