Frequently Asked Questions

Q. HOW ARE THE LESSONS SCHEDULED?

A. All lessons at Aquatic Safety Instruction are scheduled by appointment only. Each lesson is an individual entity and will be scheduled individually. There is no multi-week commitment for any class or lesson. Our instructors availability is variable and can change. All lessons must be rescheduled at least 24 hours prior to the starting time of the lesson to guarantee that the credit will stay on your account.

Q. HOW WARM ARE THE POOLS?

A. We keep our pools at an average of at least 83 degrees for the comfort of our students.

Q. ONCE I’VE MADE THE DECISION TO HAVE SWIMMING LESSONS: WHAT’S MY NEXT STEP?

A. Please call the office at (818) 363-0221 to see which packages are best for you. 2017 pricing has been updated and so has scheduling. Once you have us on the phone and you have decided which package is best for you, registration and subsequent scheduling is easily facilitated over the phone or online via our website.

Q. HOW MANY LESSONS SHOULD MY CHILD TAKE?

A. Because each child is different, there is no definite number of classes that is recommended. Each lesson is incremental and builds on previous lessons. Each student learns at a different pace and the curriculum is individualized to their ability. There is no defined threshold in which one student is water safe. It’s a long road from “toe-in-the-water” to Olympic swimmer!

Q. WHAT IS ASI’S MAKE-UP POLICY?

A.  Because ASI prides itself on the reliability of our services and instructors, we do not offer any make-ups.  It is the responsibility of the student to properly schedule their class so that they may attend all of their lessons.

Q. WHAT IF A LESSON HAS TO BE CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS?

A. We will not hold lessons if teaching conditions are inappropriate in any way. If weather or other conditions prohibits the use of a pool, we will reschedule the lesson for another day, with no consequence to you.  However, no refunds will be issued.

Q. WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE TO A LESSON?

A. Because we run on a tight schedule, we end all of our classes at the scheduled time, regardless of arrival.  Please make arrangements to be to class on time.

Q. WHEN IS FULL PAYMENT DUE FOR EACH SESSION?

A. Full payment for each lesson is due fourteen (14) days prior to the lesson. No refunds will be given once your lessons have begun.

Q. WHAT IF I HAVE A QUESTION THAT HASN’T BEEN ANSWERED?

A. You may call us directly in the office at (818) 363-0221, send us an e-mail at Information@AquaticSafetyInstruction.org or visit our website at www.AquaticSafetyInstruction.com .
